Hello everyone! I am so excited today to bring to you’ll the Author Showcase for the #AsianWeek for the Let’s Get Lit Book Fest!
The Let’s Get Lit Online Book Fest is a six week long online event to celebrate and highlight debut and marginalised authors with books coming out this year. You can find out more about the fest on our official Twitter page here and our Instagram page here.
This week, I will be hosting Asian authors along with Lili @ Utopia State of Mind and Noura @ The Perks of Being Noura. Keep your eyes on our blogs throughout this week as we’ll be hosting interviews, a panel and a showcase with these authors this week.
Today, I’ll be introducing the authors who will be featured this week!
Rin is the author of The Girl from the Well Duology, The Bone Witch Trilogy, The Never Tilting World duology and the newly released Wicked As You Wish, which is the first in the Hundred Names of Magic series. They have written for the Hungry Hearts anthology and Hid Hideous Heart anthology too!
Swati Teerdhala is the author of The Tiger at Midnight series, which has appeared on both Barnes and Noble and Book Riot’s Most Anticipated Novels lists. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a BS in finance and BA in history, she tumbled into the marketing side of the technology industry. She’s passionate about many things, including how the right ratio of curd-to-crust in a lemon tart. She currently lives in New York City.
Lyla Lee is the author of the Mindy Kim series as well as the upcoming YA novel, I’ll Be The One (Katherine Tegen/HarperCollins). Although she was born in a small town in South Korea, she’s since then lived in various parts of the United States, including California, Florida, and Texas. Inspired by her English teacher, she started writing her own stories in fourth grade and finished her first novel at the age of fourteen. After working various jobs in Hollywood and studying Psychology and Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, she now lives in Dallas, Texas. When she is not writing, she is teaching kids, petting cute dogs, and searching for the perfect bowl of shaved ice.
Lori M. Lee is the author of Forest Of Souls, first in the Shamanborn series, as well as Gates of Thread and Stone and The Infinite . She’s also a contributor to the anthologies A Thousand Beginnings and Endings and Color Outside the Lines. She considers herself a unicorn aficionado, enjoys marathoning TV shows, and loves to write about magic, manipulation, and family.
June Hur was born in South Korea, raised in Canada, and studied History and Literature at the University of Toronto. She began writing her debut novel, The Silence of Bones, after obsessing over books about Joseon Korea. She lives in Toronto with her husband and daughter.
Prerna Pickett was born in India, grew up in Northern Virginia just outside of Washington DC, lived in Idaho for a while, then in paradise AKA Hawaii, before moving back to the mainland. If You Only Knew is her debut and set to release winter 2020 with Macmillan/ Swoon Reads.
