Hello everyone! I was so happy when the recent news about the Percy Jackson adaptation came. Percy Jackson was THE series for me growing up. I love everything about it and honestly this news makes me ecstatic to re-read them! I do still have to read the other books in Riordanverse so this year it’s my personal goal to finish them all!
I will be taking part in the RR Readalong from June too in which we will be reading The Rick Riordan Presents books too! I recently read Dragon Pearl which I loved so I am excited to read the others too!

This year has been really good for me, reading-wise. I have read some beautiful books which have captured me and my heart. The best book is kind of a tie with Circe by Madeline Miller and The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. These books made me cry with how beautiful they were and honestly I am so glad I read them.
The first book which came to mind after reading this prompt was Jade City by Fonda Lee. The world building and the intricacies of this series is simply beautiful and I am always in awe of how gorgeous it is. This book is a whole world in itself and my heart gets full every time I think about this series.
I am never going to shut up about this book until everyone has read it: The Bone Witch series by Rin Chupeco. The excellent story, the main character Tea and her journey across the three books and the world building is all a masterpiece. Read this friends. (Also I am currently co-hosting a readathon for this series and you can join in HERE)
This book would be The Wolf of Oren-Yaro by K.S.Villoso. This is an character driven adult fantasy and I don’t usually gravitate towards character driven books especially in fantasy. It was 45% in the book when I realised I am going to love it. It’s so intense and well-written and I was completely smitten with the book.
Whenever I think of home, it’s always A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna which comes to mind. This space opera inspired by the Mahabharata with morally grey characters, meddling gods, celestial weapons and a sassy sentient warship is everything I love in a book and reading it makes my heart smile.
Nishat and Priti from The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar is a sibling relationship I adore. When I recently read this book, Nishat and Priti’s relationship was the one which stood out the most for me and made me love this book more. This is a sibling bond I can relate to and I adore their squabbles and love for each other.
The Silence of Bones by June Hur was so eerie and captivating that when I was reading, it completely encapsulated me in its rich world and suspense. This is the best thriller I have read in a long time and I would definitely recommend it to all.
I was so happy when I loved Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and it turned out to be just as good as the reviews and hype surrounding it. It was funny, adorable and beautiful and is one of my all-time favourites.
I would love to choose The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi. This book is so intricate and beautiful and also half the time would go in laughing/crying at the antics of the group so the time would pass faster too!! Also I could never get enough of this book!
Steel Crow Saga by Paul Krueger is a book I have been meaning to read since it released but haven’t been able to get a copy yet because of all..this *awkwardly waves hands around* But I know I will love this book because it’s an Asian fantasy with enemies to lovers trope and also because it is highly recommended by my fave Shealea!
The Burning God by R.F.Kuang which is the end to The Poppy War trilogy. I would definitely get hit by a brick for this book because even then it would hurt less than what this book is going to make me feel. I can’t wait!!
It was my dear friend Nandini who convinced me to pick up The Black Tides of Heaven by JY Yang as it was the Stars and Sorcery Book Club pick. It was a short story and I really loved the fantasy and world of this magical book. The audiobook was great and it helped me come out of a slump.
I would have to choose Percy Jackson for this because honestly Percy’s sass and wit is top tier and made me laugh so much. I can’t wait to re-read and live all that again. Another book is Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey Mcquiston but since I had already mentioned this above I did not want to repeat it.
I read An Ember in the Ashes in 2018 and I think I have only grown to love it more as the time went. It’s glorious and I cant wait for the sequel to be released this December.
The Electric Heir by Victoria Lee was this book for me. I read The Fever King and The Electric Heir within a week and I was pulled into the book right from the start and I was so afraid till the end since I was afraid something might happen. I was glad to read it ended on a good note.
I honestly did not know a book for this so I went for Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen. I really loved this book for it’s portrayal of Ever Wong and the themes of family, dreams and exploration of racism, abuse and Asian stereotypes but at the same time there were quite a few problems with it too which can’t be ignored. This book is not hated per se but it does have a lot of mixed reviews.
A book I would love to punch is Queen of Nothing by Holly Black. This was a series I was invested in and then suddenly this series turned a toxic couple into lovers and honestly it disappointed me so much.
Amun and Mehr from Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri are one of my favourite couples. Their love and support is so precious. The slowburn and the yearning in this book is definitely top-tier. I also love Severin and Laila from The Gilded Wolves so much!
I TAG all the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus lovers and fans out there. Do this tag and tag me in all your wonderful answers if you do!
