Hii Guys and welcome to my stop on the Dreamer Blog Tour which is hosted by the amazing Shealea (Shut Up, Shealea).
Synopsis: The day before moving into her new dorm, college freshman, Maya Lilac, has a haunting dream that ends with her coming face-to-face with a second version of herself. After being haunted by the dream during move-in day, she finally comes in contact with her double, nicknamed “Lucent”, and learns that she actually has powers and can—among other things—make her dreams come true.
Maya’s heritage, however, runs deeper when she discovers that she’s the True Dreamer, a person reaching back as far as Joan of Arc that’s tasked with protecting her species, as well as the world, from any and all threats… including her seemingly-peaceful and non-combative double. But, not everyone shares Maya’s vision that her clone isn’t out to harm anybody, especially her mother. As Maya and her mother fight over whether Lucent is a legitimate threat, Maya trains in her now-active powers to fulfill her destiny of protecting the world, whether she has to take care of Lucent or not.

Review: Dreamer is a New Adult, sci-fi and fantasy book with a unique story and amazing characters. The protagonist of the story is Maya, who is just starting college and has the ability to make her dreams true and she is a True Dreamer who is also the prtector her species.
I found the premise to be really different and interesting and hence I really liked it. The characters were also well written. I loved the dynamics between Maya and her mother and grandmother and especially loved the friendship between Maya and Rosemary. It was really refreshing and sweet to see their beautiful friendship. Maya was logical and smart and I liked how she always thought and did stuff instead of just doing anything which made me like her a lot.
There were action-packed scenes and emotional scenes and at the same time we read about Maya attending college and completing assignments, which I really loved about the book. There was a good balance and I love how Maya doesn’t neglect her education while doing what she does. It was fun to read and also liked reading Maya’s passion about astrology.
Overall, it was a great book and if you’re looking for a fun and interesting sci-fi/fantasy book to read, you must check out Dreamer by Ja-Mel-Vinson.
