Review || Caraval- Stephanie Garber

Synopsis: Scarlett Dragna has never left the tiny island where she and her sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval—the faraway, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show—are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt-of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. Nevertheless she becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic. And whether Caraval is real or not, Scarlett must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over or a dangerous domino effect of consequences will be set off, and her beloved sister will disappear forever. img_1452< strong>Review: Caraval was a book which a lot of people recommended to me and finally in the last month of the year I read it!! It was amazing and absolutely beautiful.

Caraval is a book about two sisters and how they escape to go to Caraval, which is the most exciting fair/circus in the world. The story is written really beautifully and while reading you get the feeling of being there. The descriptions are so good that I couldn’t keep the book down. It leaves you wanting more.

There are themes of magic and suspense, the kind of suspense which makes you bite your nails. Till the end, we do not know who the real villain is and even then we do not know. I loved Scarlett’s character the most as there so many realistic elements to her character. Every character was different but somehow always important to the storyline. This kind of writing was what made me love it more. The twists and turns and all the magic and the set up of the book were perfect for me.

I loved this book a lot. I am glad I got to read it. The second part Legendary is going to be out in May and I am honestly so excited about it!!
